Mission Statement

The International Community of Teachers of Mathematical Modelling and Applications (the 'Community') is a membership organisation that exists to promote Applications and Modelling (A&M) in all areas of mathematics education - primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities.

The Community, through its membership, research and other activities, is recognised as 'The International Study Group for Mathematical Modelling and Applications (ICTMA)' by its affiliation to the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).

Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to host ICTMA20 in 2019 are now open. Please email the President to notify her of your intention to submit and Expression of Interest or to seek further information.

All members attending ICTMA 18 are invited to the General Business Meeting to be held at the Conference in Cape Town at 11 am, Friday, July 28. The principal business of the meeting is the election of Executive Committee members and to discuss matters pertaining to the mission of ICTMA. It will be held in conjunction with a closing ceremony when the next conference venue will be announced and members invited to ICTMA19. All welcome.

At the Business Meeting at ICTMA18 in Cape Town there will be an election for one position on the International Executive Committee (IEC) as one member, Jill Brown, has finished her current four-year term. Jill is eligible to be re-elected for one more period of four years. As registrar, I am inviting nominations of members eligible for election to the Executive, under the constitution, to be nominated by eligible members. A nomination form is attached. Please return to the registrar once all signatures are obtained.

Members not attending ICTMA18 may obtain a postal ballot from this website. This form must be returned at least two weeks before ICTMA begins. Responses may be by post or email to the President as acting secretary for the election.
